While some believe that there is divinity throughout language, and others believe in the endless soul, many believe in the One Above All. A figure of rule, obedience, and lawful conduct. The ultimate judge. There are rumors that the One Above All walks among the people, judging them, testing them, often absolving them of their burdens of guilt and helping heal traumas of the past with words of kindness.

The One Above All is laid with the cause, the objective grantor of blessed moments and to blame for misfortune. What was meant to be and what happened is a part of the great divine plan. Hundreds of sub-sects have come about over the last millennium as all the divine cultures mix and mingle in the massive population of the Metropolis of Vaia.

A dozen grand churches and several hundred small churches are scattered throughout the city. A place where the faithful gather and care for each other. There is the occasional public discord between churches as their collective beliefs continue to diverge over time.

While it is rare for a church to become corrupt, it is not common. In the last decade one such instance, The Mad Preacher, a man blessed or cursed by necromancy, went among the people and raised the dead, causing them to become animate, the zombies retained the memories of their lives but quickly degraded into dementia, all while their bodies rot alive. A horror that reduced the entire sub-sect to a brief moment in history.
